NE message : No one owes Singapore a living.
We find our own way to survive and prosper, turning challenge into opportunity
Looking back to the poor people who pulled us upstream against the current during the drifting really reminded me on how each of us struggle in life to make a living. In China, especially in this part of the world, people are constantly struggling to make a living, however small it is.Apparently, they used to be fisherman that go upstream to find fish and so they are experienced in this aspect.Pulling 17 people upstream is no easy feat and i have utmost respect for these fisherman[the youngest is around 18yrs old].As u can see from the picture above they even had to lean forward and pull us using their body weight. These fisherman turned their daily rountine of catching fish into a opportunity of ferrying people around the river. This is how they survive and challenge themselves to make a better living. This picture will always remind me that struggling is needed in order to be prosper/successful.
